So, I’m finally feeling better. That cold kicked my ass. I didn’t go work out on Sat or Sun because I wasn’t feeling well. However when I weighed myself today I actually went down .2 pounds. Workouts in Water was fun.

I still hurt. And I’m getting a cold. I didn’t weigh myself today because I was stressing too much about what the scale said and not enough about getting healthy. Going to bed now.

I haven’t posted on here in a while…mostly, I think because I fell off the wagon last week with my eating and ended up gaining instead of losing weight. I went back up to 307, which kinda depressed me. But I’m back on track now, and am at 302.6 pounds!! People have started to notice that I am getting slimmer. My question always used to be, before this journey started, at what weight would the weight loss be noticeable? Well apparently it’s 20 pounds! I still can’t see any difference when I look in the mirror, and all I wear is clothes with stretchy waists, so I don’t notice a difference there either. I once read a book about an anorexic that was titled When Mirrors Lie and that’s about where I am. I’m not saying that I’m gonna become an anorexic (I like food waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for that!), just that the mirror isn’t giving me the image of myself that I want to see. But maybe in a few months I will see a slimmer me. Exercise wise, I’ve been doing really well. I’ve worked out every night, in fact, last night I was at the rec center for 4 1/2 hours. I did my usual work out (45 min on treadmill, then 15 min weight training), then went to yoga. I farted. That’s right, in the middle of stretching, when everyone was concentrating on their breathing, I let ‘er rip. Not on purpose of course, and no one seemed to notice, but I was very embarrassed! Note to self…no baked beans for lunch on yoga days!! So I got done with yoga and went to the sauna. Another new thing we’ve started since my last post. Every day for 10 minutes I sweat it out in the sauna. I actually find it pretty relaxing. Then I went in the pool with Sami for a good hour. We swam laps (practicing our olympic style turns kicking off the wall.) and did some exercises that Amanda and I learned in workouts in water (W.O.W.). Sami got a heart monitor and it told her that she burned 300 cal. So maybe I was about the same? I’ve been looking into getting one for myself, but they’re so expensive!
Tonight we had our first progress weigh-in for the Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge. Good news! I was down almost 8 pounds. And I lost 3 1/2 inches!!! 1 1/4 on my arms and hips and 1 inch from my waist! Yay!! My BMI went down 1.3 points. Yay!! Then we had our first workout with our trainer Becky. I hurt. I’ll just leave it at that. I hurt.
All in all, it’s been a pretty good week. I think I needed to fall off the wagon to get myself motivated again. And I’m still not drinking pop.
Current weight- 302.6 pounds.

Today we weighed in and measured for the Extreme Weightloss Challenge and I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. My weight only went down less than half a pound. The good thing is my BMI decreased by one and I lost some inches on my arm and hips. We worked out after that and it made me feel good to get moving and exercise today. I just need to use this weigh in as a challenge to myself that next time will be better, and I need to do some things to make that happen. The main thing I need to work on is setting up a meal plan for each week by planning out each meal and snack ahead of time so I know exactly what I’m eating every day. I also need to spread out my eating throughout the day, not just a little food early in the day and then pigging out for supper. I’ve heard that eating every 3-4 hours helps keep the metabolism going and helps maintain good blood sugar levels. So if I can make these changes I know I can get back on track and see the pounds go down.

As of now I’m down 10 pounds and I’m feeling great! This week we did workouts in water on Monday and yoga on Wednesday along with our regular exercise every day. The workouts in water was a lot of fun and we learned some new exercises to do while we’re in the pool that we can use outside of the class. Yoga was very interesting. At first I was intimidated and I had a hard time doing some of the stretches and it didn’t help that I was sweating a lot. But I got through it and the cooldown at the end was very relaxing and I think I want to go again to see if I can improve.
Overall this week has been good as far as eating. I did eat a meal at Burger King yesterday for supper, but I still lost a pound, so the exercise really helped. I also haven’t been eating junk food at night. Twice this week I was shopping and went through the cookie aisle and actually picked up some cookies. But I stood there and asked myself if it was really worth it, because the pleasure I would get from eating them would be temporary and then I would feel guilty afterwards. So I put them back on the shelf and I’m proud of myself for that.

First off…I’m down to 303!!! That’s 19 pounds lost. Yay!! I weighed twice to make sure the scale wasn’t lying to me. Party at my house when I get below 300. Jk, mom. Amanda and I did workout in water last night and it was a good workout. Water adds alot of resistance. Tomorrow we are going to try yoga. I’m excited for that. I want to learn stretches. As to the extreme weight loss challenge, KCHE has their website updated with info on all the teams. Here is the link to their website: KCHERadio.com. I am the biggest contestant in the challenge. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I’ve been thinking alot about where I want to go with this weightloss. At what point will I be satisfied? According to healthcentral.com, my ideal body weight is 152-167 pounds. They told me I am overweight by 135 pounds and that I should consult a doctor. Lol. I knew that already. But I think I would be happy to reach a 14-16 dress size. I don’t know what weight that is, but right now I am a 26 so I have a long ways to go. But yay! 19 pounds so far.
Current weight 303 pounds.

I’m excited that I’ve lost another pound since yesterday. That makes it a total of eight pounds I’ve lost since joining the rec center. Today I woke up late, and didn’t eat until 12:30 and I noticed that I was extremely hungry by then and ate four pieces of peanut butter toast. So I’ve learned I need to eat something as soon as I wake up so I don’t end up overeating for lunch. I did work out at the rec center and burned over 350 calories between the elliptical and treadmill. And tonight I went out to eat with Joe at the Haye Loft in Wall Lake and ate a grilled chicken sandwich plain and a tossed salad with fat free ranch. I was also proud of myself that I didn’t order pop and chose to order iced tea instead. And once that glass was empty I drank two glasses of water. I know that I really need to drink less diet pop and more water to keep myself hydrated. So all in all a good day!
