In my previous post, you saw the results of week 4. This is the end of Week 5 on the diet and I feel like I have the diet down now. I have really started to work out and I am trying to figure out the exercise plus calorie thing. You are to net 800 calories every day. My workouts are now burning around 180 to 200 calories. That means that I need to eat two additional 3 oz chicken breasts. I keep making little changes to the diet like pork rinds and beef jerky. I also sometimes add in a very small handful of nuts. I am sticking to weighing myself every morning when I get up and taking the multivitamin every night with dinner. I also made sure that I was getting a gallon of water a day. I can now tell when I have not had enough water or I am water heavy. Water can actually hide your weight-loss if you start retaining the water.
This did not change much this week, I am still eating pretty much the same foods that I have in the past weeks. I also did not cheat at all this week; the foods were all stuff that I could have on the diet. I still have not had sugar, carbs (bread), and high fat foods this week on the diet. This is mostly a 90% protein diet.
The daily calories:
I stuck with the 200, 100, 200, 100, and 200-calorie counts with a daily average of 800 calories and 1000 calories on the days I worked out. I had an extra 200 calories on the days I worked out in order to offset the calories I burned. This was in the form of lean protein, most of the time chicken breasts or something else that is lean protein. I have purchase some whey protein to help with replacing calories after working out. I am thinking about replacing those calories with a whey protein of some sort.
This was 7 days of the phase 2 diet with veggies w/ non-fat salad dressing. Weight lost for the week 6.0 pounds
- Heart Rate: 99 beats per minute
- Blood pressure: 118/72
- Weight: 275.8
- Body Mass Index: 37.4
The results to date:
So far, I have lost a total of 33.0 pounds in five weeks on the diet. Man I am really kicking butt and taking names on this diet. I really thought it was going to be harder than this. I am getting nervous that I am losing weight too fast, yes that actually can be a concern. If you lose weight too fast then your body does not adjust to the lost weight and your skin will not adjust accordingly. Let us see how I do in week 6. 🙂
